Tonight we discussed A LOT!
We also got a statement of what we've received so far towards our funds...I have $2300 more to go.

Please continue to keep our group in prayer. We did prayer requests tonight and a lot of us have been under attack lately-but praise God we are covered in the blood and are under the authority of Christ (as I have been reminded in so many different ways this week). John-one of our 2 "adult" leaders-also gave us some questions to ponder before, during, and after the trip that will help make this trip as Christ-centered/focused as possible.

I'm am exhausted, emotionally and physically after this week I have had, but praise God! It took my mom and the meeting tonight for me to realize that compared to Job and Christ, things are not that bad.

A passage of scripture I have been clinging to is Hebrews 12: 1-13 (a few vs's from that in particular). It's has been a nice reminder of who is in control, who has the power, and who is sovereign, and who is not [which for this control freak is pretty hard to accept].

I am BACK! I can no longer use the excuse of graduate school and internship and moving twice in six months as reasons not to keep up with my Blog. Easter Baking Frenzy

On Easter weekend, in between church, enjoying the sunny outdoors with the pup, cleaning, and family lunch, I was in a baking frenzy. A while back I had purchased King Arthur Flour's Unbleached Whole Wheat Flour and a small package of their organic unbleached all-purpose flour. After searching for several weeks for yeast-free recipes, not being content with what I was finding and wanting to make, I caved and picked up instant yeast from Aldi. After scouring Pinterest and Google, I stumbled on a recipe for Honey Oat Whole Wheat Bread. Oh. My. Gosh. Not only was this an easy recipe to follow, but the smell as it was baking...so good. I ended up making 2 loaves, of course the 2nd turned out much better than the first (which is great because it wasn't for me!) Making this without a KitchenAid or hand mixer made me a tad bit nervous initially. Take the Wheel - Please!

It's funny how God-moments happen when you're not expecting it (as if you can ever plan on them!). Driving back from Georgia this morning, of course my moment hits. It's also 'funny' how you don't realize there's something weighing on you until it decides to be released. The past few days I've been spending some quality time with the road, and that has afforded me the opportunity to be alone with my thoughts, as random they sometimes are. Have you ever felt like you're called to go off the well-worn path, and you know if you do it will be met with opposition?
