Visa

Praise the Lord, my visa arrived today at my school-God is so good! This just totally confirmed how I am supposed to go on this trip! We haven't gotten a financial update since we've been home for Christmas break, but we are believing that I am set (seeing as I was pretty close when I last received a report I'm not too worried). We went shopping today for the rest of my little things (wet wipes, soap, dramamine, etc) and a friend from home lent me another long skirt. Time is just flying by too quickly and yet it's not quick enough...The only thing I'll be "worrying" about while overseas are the gifts I want to get people back home :) which is not a bad thing to be worrying about anyway... Blessings, Kylie

Almost There!

As of my last financial update print out I am at $2,065! There are 6 days left to my "Christmas Break" and then it's back on the road to MI, and from there to IL. Then it's to India I go!!! God is so good! The first report I was so discouraged, then the second my amount had doubled, and after that it was more than double...either way He just keeps surprising me. :) The only thing I really really really need heavy and intense prayer for that I am worrying about is my visa. My passport renewal took 2.5 weeks longer than expected to go through, so I didn't get to send my passport in for the visa part until Wednesday. Basically I need a miracle for it to get done and mailed back to the school before the consulate closes for Christmas. Please please please pray that it would just go through quickly and without delay or issue. I am so excited and ready to begin this journey, but I'll be honest, the closer to the end of my "break" the more bittersweet...

Getting to Know You

Well, on Friday, December 10, we met at the home of Dee (she and her husband run the compound). The ride leading up was epic, seeing as the car I was in jammed to Christmas music and the Lion King. We then get to a cute and warm home, and are greeted with a hug at the door as we are told to take our shoes off and make ourselves comfortable. Dee then introduced us to her son and we sat around and talked for a bit before dinner (some of our group was stuck in traffic). After that we gathered for prayer and chose from the buffet of homemade indian food (which was delish btw). This group, already I can tell, is going to be great. There was so much laughter and good fellowship around the table. And then, when it was time to get serious and get business and prayer taken care of, we did. Already the Holy Spirit is preparing our hearts and our spirits for the adventure ahead. As far as money goes, I need $1,880 still, which all things considering isn't bad since I have double the amount...

25 Days

Tonight we discussed A LOT! We also got a statement of what we've received so far towards our funds...I have $2300 more to go. Please continue to keep our group in prayer. We did prayer requests tonight and a lot of us have been under attack lately-but praise God we are covered in the blood and are under the authority of Christ (as I have been reminded in so many different ways this week). John-one of our 2 "adult" leaders-also gave us some questions to ponder before, during, and after the trip that will help make this trip as Christ-centered/focused as possible. I'm am exhausted, emotionally and physically after this week I have had, but praise God! It took my mom and the meeting tonight for me to realize that compared to Job and Christ, things are not that bad. A passage of scripture I have been clinging to is Hebrews 12: 1-13 (a few vs's from that in particular). It's has been a nice reminder of who is in control, who has the power, and who is sovere...

Checks! :O

So I got an email today from the OCFM department. Apparently they'd prefer it if no one put names in the memo line. Even if you don't want it to be tax deductable, do NOT put my name in the memo line. I'm sorry for the inconvenience and constantly changing instructions. 4 wks. until India! Please keep me in your prayers. Things have been going on lately that have further solidified that I am to go on this trip, but that the enemy would rather I not. Pray for strength, perseverence and peace. Love y'all.
